From the water plant into blind flight
Government control ends at the plant gate.
While water plants promise "purest water," it then passes through a pipe system that is systematically overlooked as a central weakness.
According to the Drinking Water Ordinance (TrinkwV) and statements from water suppliers:
"Water quality is monitored at the exit of the water plant in accordance with legal requirements."
With this and the two following articles, we address the contamination that drinking water picks up on its way through public pipes.

💧Today we debunk another myth:
From the water plant to your tap, drinking water passes through a partly extensively branched pipe network – often stretching 50 kilometers or more. Along this way it passes through storage tanks, tunnels, pressure stations, house connections, corroded steel pipes with mineral deposits, scaled pipes with material separation and sludge buildup, encrusted pipes with bacterial deposits, rust pitting that can massively impair flow, as well as corrosion films with iron oxide precipitations, often in combination with biofilms and contaminants.

– and disinfection residues break down, which can alter taste, odor, and color.
